Color the Universe!
Have you ever wanted to make your own images of space? This tutorial demonstrates how astronomical images are created by professional observatories such as at Kitt Peak National Observatory, Gemini Observatory, and the Hubble Space Telescope. Learn how to make an image of M33 (the Triangulum Galaxy) as well as M16 (the Eagle Nebula).
The above DropBox Folder contains data from the WIYN 0.9-meter telescope on Kitt Peak. It contains data for over 20 objects. Make your own images and post then on social media with the hashtag #ColorTheUniverse so that people can see the work you've done!
Photoshop & FITS Liberator are required.
